Description

Forgive me for the poor quality scan, I'll hopefully be able to stop by Staples tomorrow to get a better quality scanned image. Image updated!

This one has been sitting on the back burner for a while.

Anyway this was a concept idea that I had come to my head many years ago (roughly my senior year of high school), Chevrolet made some CUCV'S for the US military back in the 1980's K-5 Blazer (M1009) and a K30 pickup (M1008), what if they also made a 2-ton military truck based around the Chevrolet's existing C-series medium duty commercial trucks, and designated them the (M1100 CUCV) as another option to the M35A1's, A2's, and A3's "Deuce and a Half" trucks. Now back in high school I did do a shitty rendition of what one looked like, but unfortunately I deleted it from my gallery on DA so this is the only one that exists.

Now for those of you who do not know what a Chevrolet C-series medium duty truck looks like, I took the liberty of drawing an accurate rendition of a Chevrolet C70 tandem axle grain truck up above as reference. Please note that these two trucks are not to scale. Now unlike the previous design, I figure that this truck could share some of the same drive line components and mil-spec axles and tires as the Deuce and the Half truck as well as the same troop/cargo carrying bed, and the same 24 volt electrical system. This truck could also feature a optional gun turret with either a light machine gun such as a SAW, M60, MK42, MK46, MK48, etc. or a heavy machine such as the M2A1 Browning .50 cal as pictured here. This truck could also be fitted with a winch, tube frame brush guard, and a snorkel to an intake side breather, and it would also be powered by an 8V71T Detroit Turbo Diesel. Other components that this truck could also support which are not pictured in this rendition is some blackout lights and additional high beam/mil-spec off road lamps. Unlike the suspension in civilian Chevy C70, the M1100 would give the truck about another 4 inches of ground clearance and would be able to handle better in rough terrain.

This truck could also feature many of the US military common paint schemes such as woodland summer camo, winter camo, desert tan, and olive drab.

As of now, this truck only exists on paper. If I had the money, more additional advanced mechanical skills, tools, materials and some donor parts from a couple of trucks, I feel about 70% confident that I could probably get a running prototype of this truck put together.
