Athena Blue Sketch W.I.P.

Here's a work in progress of the most bad ass female Olympians from the Greek Pantheon, Athena. Random fact of the day, "Bad Ass" is Athena's 'unofficial' middle name. I was inspired by "The Unforgiven II" & "Fade to Black" by: Metallica for this piece so far. As you can tell by the ugly black border that runs the corner of this paper, that this is still a W.I.P. I only used up 1/3 of sheet of paper for this piece and I plan to add more to this piece in the near future, I'm looking at sketching in a picture of Nike standing next to Athena carrying a lit torch and short sword 'like a boss'. Right now I ran out of that Non-Photo Blue Artist Pencil (blue sketch pencil) *frowny face* between this piece and the other two:   that I drew over memorial stand down. I'm still going through that pesky artist's block as previously mentioned in the description of this piece: . I do have plans to have this fully inked and colored, however I cannot finish this piece until I can get myself some more Non-Photo Blue Artist pencils (which are crazy impossible hard to find in stores right now, for me anyway).

I dunno what you guys think, but I think that Eurasian Eagle Owl came out looking pretty 'Bad Ass' to me. I figure it doesn't make any sense draw in some prissy ass 'micro owl' as I've seen other deviants on this website portray Athena with, which is okay; however I prefer "Bad Ass" over "cutesy" (its probably a 'man thing') but in this aspect, bigger is better. No, if you're going to be "The Goddess of War," then you want to look part as in being in the company of one world's largest and most majestic/bad ass breed of owl, the Eurasian Eagle Owl; some of these birds weigh in up to 10 pounds and have a wing span of 74 inches (they can rival that of any small eagle or giant hawk). I dunno about you, but if it were me and I seen someone dressed in full armor ready for battle carrying one of those big birds on their shoulders, I dunno If I'd want to mess with them, their pet Owl is intimidating enough to look at. But that's just my two cents worth.

PS, I'd love to have a female Eurasian Eagle Owl as a house pet.
