1970-1972 Wayne Papoose P-series School Bus

This is a real school bus if you can believe it. This is an early 1970's Wayne Papoose P-series Bus, roughly between the years of 1970-1972. The design of this bus was ahead of it's time, it would the equivalence of a Thomas Built Safety Bus. The odd design of this bus was made to eliminate as many of the bus driver's blind spots as much as possible, there for hints it's overall design. The bus was also made to be cheap and economical, compared to the other full-sized school buses of it's time. Unfortunately for the P-series neither of the design features of the bus caught on, it ended up being the Wayne Bus Corporation's most unpopular bus; not many of them sold.

I searched all over the web for good reference pictures of the Wayne Papoose School bus, and believe it or not I couldn't find a damn thing aside from some grainy photos scanned out of an early 1970's Wayne School Bus ad/brochure from an old magazine or something like that, there was absolutely nothing relevant to be found on this old school bus. Like I said these buses were not very popular of their time, that probably explains why I wasn't able to find any more information or images aside from these pictures: [link] . My guess is that these buses were so unpopular, that whatever of the P-Series Bus that did sell, that there probably weren't too many of them that survived the scrap yard, if any at all. I guess these were only made in short bus models, but I could be wrong. Then again, there really isn't any adequate information on these buses, so your guess is as good as mine.
